biography

a singular journey: a love of music as the only horizon

Born in Toulouse in 1976, Vincent A. Jockin discovers music as a self-taught pianist before pursuing university studies in musicology at Université Jean Jaurès.
His musical training continues at the Toulouse Regional Conservatory (CRR) in its higher education cycle, where he studies musical writing, analysis, harmony and orchestration — under the significant influence of Paul Badens and Sophie Zadikian.

Rejecting the aesthetic conventions of his time soon becomes imperative: he then decides to free himself, obeying only one necessity — that of composing!
Composing. Composing again and again. Serving music, celebrating it for its own sake: glorifying it, honouring it and sharing it so that all together — audience, musicians and composer — we may rise!

A member of SACEM, his catalogue now comprises more than seventy works spanning different genres: chamber, vocal, sacred and symphonic music, as well as musical tales...
His work is rooted in what he himself describes as classical music of today — demanding, yet balanced and accessible — in which modernity strives not to lose sight of pleasure and beauty.
